Foreign exchange risk
Foreign exchange involves exchange rate risk. When customers convert their deposits from Hong Kong dollars or foreign currencies to other currencies, foreign exchange fluctuations may result in a profit or loss on the principal. If the foreign currency needs to be converted back to other currencies (including Hong Kong dollars) after the foreign currency matures, the deposit amount may make a profit or suffer a loss due to the change in the foreign exchange rate at that time.
